Red Bull has been dominating on track in the ongoing season and is the out-and-out title favorite. However, in stark contrast, things have been blowing apart internally as the team structure is now on the verge of collapsing since the announcement of Adrian Newey ‘s departure. Now, to add further tensions for the Austrian giant, reports have emerged that Helmut Marko is ready to quit Red Bull to activate Max Verstappen ‘s exit clause.

According to BBC, after Adrian Newey’s departure, the team has been struggling with internal power struggles. Moreover, key figures in the team have lost faith in the management.

This has led to Red Bulls’ senior figure, Helmut Marko to ponder leaving the team, which would also allow Max Verstappen to activate his exit clause enabling both of them to leave the team.

This has raised further speculations regarding whether Red Bull would persist in keeping Christian Horner at the helm. Keeping this in view, Red Bull might be in for a troublesome few weeks where they might have to again go through internal tussles, which might result in the loss of their star driver to their arch-rivals (Mercedes) in a shocking transfer.

Red Bull CEO reveals the requirement of Max Verstappen to stay with the Austrian team

Oliver Mintzlaff took the responsibility of heading the Austrian firm ahead and has a very special role in its F1 operations. On the other hand, ever since taking on the role of CEO in 2022, the team has been constantly surrounded by controversies and is now on the brink of losing Verstappen.

Despite the rumors, the Austrian seemed relaxed about the Verstappen exit rumors.

I’m not at all worried that he’s considering a move. Things just have to calm down again now. That’s what Max wants – and that’s what we want too. You also need that if you want to be successful in the long term in sport, whether in football or Formula 1. Oliver Mintzlaff said in an interview with Bild

The 48-year-old stated that he is not worrying about Verstappen leaving the team anytime soon. However, he admitted that the Dutchman would only stay with the outfit if the calmness and peace was restored that the team currently lacks. Moreover, he was optimistic that the situation would get back to normality pretty soon and that the questions regarding Verstappen’s future would be put to bed.

Despite his optimism, the reality speaks otherwise and questions regarding the reigning champion’s future remain unanswered. This year’s driver market is quite volatile and considering this, any move cannot be ruled out for next year.
