We've got a smaller slate of just eight games on the MLB schedule for Monday night, but that doesn't mean we can't find any valuable bets to target. Here are the three strikeout props I'm eyeing for Monday's MLB slate.
This is a great matchup between two sides going in the opposite direction. James Paxton has been on fire for the Boston Red Sox lately with 17 strikeouts and just three earned runs over his last two starts, while the Colorado Rockies have the second-most strikeouts in the MLB over the last 15 days (129). I expect a strong performance out of the left-hander.
James Kaprielian has rotated between the starting rotation and the bullpen this season, so it's clear the Oakland Athletics don't trust him as a full-time starter. It's easy to see why, too, as the righty is 1-6 with a 7.21 ERA and has gone beyond six innings just once in eight starts. Kaprielian hasn't gone over 4.5 Ks in three straight starts, and I don't see that changing against a loaded Tampa Bay Rays lineup.
Bryce Miller isn't exactly what you'd call a strikeout artist. The rookie fanned 10 in his MLB debut in May (albeit against the Athletics), but he's averaged just 3.8 Ks in six starts since. Miller has gone over 4.5 Ks only three times in seven starts, and two of those performances came against the As. The Miami Marlins have scored at least five runs in seven of their last eight games, and they rank third in fewest strikeouts over the last 15 days (80).
