Is a Former Lakers All-Star Hinting at a Comeback?
USA TODAY Sports

Former Lakers center Dwight Howard posted a cryptic social media post earlier from his second stint with the team. This has led some to believe that he is hinting about a potential comeback, especially given the issues at the position for the Lakers.

While it's unlikely that Howard would be coming back, weirder things have happened before. The Lakers could use another big body to work with and Howard does know how to play alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Los Angeles has been pushed around inside by some of the better big men in the league, notably Nikola Jokic and Domantas Sabonis. Bringing in someone like Howard could at least throw another body at those players, potentially giving them fits.

Howard hasn't played since the 2021-2022 season, so the Lakers would be taking a chance on bringing him in. Again, it's not likely that Howard will be back in the league or that the Lakers would be signing him.

He probably just posted this to have some fun, which is something we have become accustomed to with Howard. It's a fun thought given the state of the team, but not practical in reality.
