The Washington Commanders have new owners and a new quarterback. But they’ve got the same NBA superstar fan.

A lot of positive vibes around that team and fanbase since the sale of the team.

Longtime Washington football fan Kevin Durant visited the Commanders training camp Friday, touring the camp in a golf cart and watching practice from a VIP section in the stands.
Durant grew up in Prince George County, Maryland, just south of where the Commanders play at Fed Ex Field in Andover. It’s a positive sign for the post-Daniel Snyder era of Commanders football that Durant is on board to support the team. After all, Durant is known for his team loyalty, right?
Controversial owner Snyder sold the team to an ownership group with NBA ties. Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris is the majority owner, and the consortium includes NBA legend Magic Johnson. Returning coach “Riverboat” Ron Rivera was excited to see KD.
Ron Rivera, on longtime Commanders fan Kevin Durant attending practice this morning: "For guys like KD to come back and show their support means a lot to us."

There seem to be no hard feelings in D.C. towards Durant, even after he recruited Wizards star Bradley Beal to join him in Phoenix. Maybe that’s because Durant also spent time this week working out with new Wizard Jordan Poole.

The two worked on their game, shot hoops and presumably bonded over fighting with Draymond Green.
Durant’s visit is a great sign for Washington. Unless he convinces Terry McLaurin he should form a wide receiver super team in Dallas with CeeDee Lamb.
