Warriors star thinks team can match Michael Jordan's titles

The Golden State Warriors have 14-to-1 odds to win the title this year. Draymond Green thinks they have a great chance to win. And win again.

Green discussed the topic in an interview with ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk.

"I don't like to necessarily put a number on things. But I don't see why we can't get two more championships. Why not?"

After a disappointing year where the Warriors failed to defend their 2022 title, in part due to Green slugging former teammate Jordan Poole, Green has renewed his focus this season. But not because he needs to make up for last year's transgressions. It's about another guard he's clashed with.

"It's not to redeem anything about Draymond," Green said. "My goal is that we can help Chris Paul get his first championship."

Paul has been a Warriors nemesis for years, calling himself a "sworn enemy" of the team.

"As they (the Warriors) were running down the hallway to the locker room, they were shouting down the hall towards the Rockets locker room, ‘F--- Chris Paul! F--- Chris Paul!" after beating the Rockets in the 2019 playoffs, per ESPN's Briand Windhorst.

Green acknowledged disliking Paul, saying that on a scale of 1-10, his hatred of Paul was, "Eleven! I hated him. Eleven! But I think that's also a sign of respect."

He's not the only Warrior who thinks they can win again. Klay Thompson has made his own vision board.

"Inside Thompson's locker at the Chase Center, the shooter has taped up a newspaper clipping of the faces of all 26 players who have won five or more NBA championships."

Five championships is one thing, but Green's aiming for six. After all, Michael Jordan once punched Steve Kerr in a practice, and they won three more championships after that. Still, Chris Paul should keep his hands up, just in case.
