Browns QB Joe Flacco joins an impressive list of quarterbacks in win over Jaguars

A few weeks after being called off his couch to quarterback the Cleveland Browns, Joe Flacco has a starting gig for the remainder of the season and a place in the NFL record books.

Flacco led the Browns to a 31-27 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, earning career win No. 100. He's only the 19th QB in history to reach the century mark in wins, joining a list of 10 Hall of Famers. Tom Brady (251), Canton-bound soon, still holds the all-time mark with 251 wins.

The 16-year vet looked like his old self in Week 14, finishing 26-of-45 for 311 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. Per Stathead, Flacco is only the 14th QB 38 years or older to throw for 311 yards or more and three touchdowns in a game and the first since Brady (2022), who had 31 such games in his career.

The Browns' win over the Jaguars helped them improve to 8-5 and after the game, head coach Kevin Stefanski crowned Flacco as the starter for the final four games of the regular season. Despite the good news, Flacco called his performance "sloppy" while giving credit for the win to the Browns defense, whom he said they'll have to lean on the rest of the way.

Humbleness aside, he admitted being back on the field is making him feel young.

"So many times, I was feeling like a 10-year-old kid again," Flacco told Evan Washburn of CBS Sports. "To be able to do that, you just can't let it be lost on you how special it is to be able to play this game."

Without QB Deshaun Watson, many believed the Browns' season was as good as finished. After a massive win behind Flacco and company, though, they're very much in the thick of the AFC playoff race. How things will shake out down the stretch is anyone's guess, but the Browns might have a shot with the former Super Bowl MVP leading the charge.
