Former Houston Texans players J.J. Watt and DeAndre Hopkins have odd exchange on social media
Chris Coduto-USA TODAY Sports

Recently, the greatest Houston Texan of all time, J.J. Watt, decided to host a celebrity softball game. However, this game was a bit different and one that will hit every feeling for Texans fans.

The two rosters of this game are former players and legends. So, for example, Watt, Andre Johnson, and others are on the legends side. C.J. Stroud, Will Anderson, and Tytus Howard are current players. That means that guys like DeAndre Hopkins, who is easily the second-greatest receiver the Texans have ever had, can't be on the softball game.

Since he isn't a legend or a retired player, he can't be on that side. Since he isn't currently on the team, he can't be on that side either. But when Watt announced the Information on Instagram, Hopkins commented that he wanted to play and that he hopes he gets the invite one day.

Watt responded perfectly.

You have to retire first to be on the legends squad...... or (then used the eyes emoji).

In other words, Watt is saying that the day he retires, he will definitely be on the Legends squad, as he should be. Or, he could just go back to the Texans.

In all seriousness, the two are very, very close and joke around like that all the time. Hopkins may come back one day, but I think it will be when he is close to retiring. He is one of the greatest receivers to ever wear battle red and steel blue.
