Ravens hero awarded for walk-off winner vs. Rams
Jessica Rapfogel-USA TODAY Sports

In one of the more improbable returns of the year, Ravens special team ace and WR Tylan Wallace called game:

And for his efforts, he just received a tremendous honor:

AFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Wallace has only played in seven games this year and has yet to log a reception as a WR. But when his team needed him most, he struck gold and made one of the biggest plays of the year.

It was only the fourth time in the history of the league that a game ended on a walk-off punt return for a TD in overtime. Ironically, it was the second of the year, as rookie WR Xavier Gipson returned one of his own for the Jets back in September.

But for Wallace, he made the most of his opportunity following an injury to Ravens starting punt returner Devin Duverney and a decision from John Harbaugh to keep Zay Flowers fresh for the offense.

So we'll see if Wallace can keep it up as he has now earned the job going forward and has some metal to remember what will likely go down as the play of his career.
